A self-portrait is a representation of an artist, by the artist and no matter what media the artist selects to work with, the one subject that all share is that of themselves, the self-portrait. Self-portraits are not just a physical reflection but how the artist sees themselves and the world around them. It is the most personal story that the artist can create and makes the self-portrait one of art's most important subjects.

The digital self-portrait helps the artists make unusual and thought-provoking self-portraits with photographic images and digital media. The artist selects to experiment with digital cameras, lighting conditions, lenses, filters, photoshop techniques, and printing methods in order to express a unique self-image.

My Neighborhood as Urban Landscapes

My students discuss the concept of “attentive Living” and its significance in their daily life. They will develop "urban landscapes" using photography and captured ambient sound of their neighborhoods, school, home, and any other place they come in contact with on a daily basis.

The genre of "Urban Landscapes" helps my students with a natural understanding of their surroundings and hence begin to analyze personal space as organic and changing. They will understand their environment and the influence it has on their everyday life.

"Urban landscapes" will help my students identify personal, cultural, and social truths about their communities and the people who inhabit them. They will, with intent, analyze, select, and present a personal point of view about their world.
